Das gemalte Porträt im Miniaturformat blickt auf eine lange Geschichte zurück, die in England am Hof von Heinrich VIII ab ca. 1525 als eigenständige Form ihren Anfang nahm. Über die Jahrhunderte veränderten sich Techniken und Stilrichtungen dieser Bildgattung, bis gegen Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts die Erfindung der Fotografie die klassische Porträtminiatur verdrängte.

Nicht nur im Kleinen, auch in Dreiviertel- oder in Lebensgrösse sind Porträts eindrücklich. Diese Tradition führe ich in modernem Stil weiter – in verschiedenen Grössen, individuell und fein in der Ausführung.

The painted portrait in miniature format has a long history, that originated in England at the court of Henry VIII at around 1525 A.D. as an independent form of painting. Over the centuries the techniques and styles of this genre gradually changed, until, in the middle of the 19th century, the invention of photography superseded the classic miniature portrait.

Portraits are impressive, not only as miniatures, but also in three-quarter or full length. I continue this tradition, in a modern style – in various sizes, individual and exquisite in their execution.
